With an 11-1 victory over Camels Hump, Vermont, on Monday, Aug. 10, Bridgewater advanced to the Little League New England Regional championship game, meaning the team is just one win away from reaching Williamsport. Bridgewater will face either Maine or Vermont in the regional final on Thursday, Aug. 13 at 7 p.m. (ESPN).
Bridgewater’s semifinal vs. Vermont began shortly after 9 a.m. on Monday and wrapped up less than two hours later after RJ Zackrison’s RBI ended the game by run-rule in the fifth inning. That means that Bridgewater will have three full nights and more than 68 hours of rest before its next game.
That also means even more hangout time for the group of 12.

“It’s super fun in the dorms. We’re having a lot of fun together,” said RJ Zackrison.

While they await their opponent in the championship game, the players are also excited to partake in pin trading, a Little League tradition where players from different teams share custom lapel pins they bring with them to regional tournaments and the Little League World Series.
With wins in their first two regional games to advance to the final, manager Tim Zackrison is giving a day off to his players on Tuesday to allow for a reset before it’s back to work on Wednesday.
“I think we’ll take a little day break from baseball,” said Zackrison postgame. “Maybe go hit the bowling lane, relax, watch some baseball, and get prepared for a really big game on Thursday night.”
